Facebook has introduced a new search feature that will allow people to search their connections, photos, places they like and other details. In short, the new feature will allow users to search more personal information than they can find through various search engines like Google.

Initially, the services will be provided only to a very few users, and after receiving feedback and gradually moving forward Facebook will made this service available to its more than one billion users.

The new service, called “graph search”, will enable users to search the information they need instead of relying on the social network that selects pieces of information and updates for any given user deeming they would be interesting to the user.

Many analysts consider this decision by Facebook a very daring move after going public around eight months ago. It should be noted that Facebook’s share value dropped significantly once it hit the market, and although it has gained stability now, it is still below the price of $38, which was fixed when the company went public.

It is expected that after evaluation of the new service, Facebook will extend it to its entire user community some time next year. However, no exact timeline has yet been given in this regard.

It is still too soon to predict if this new feature will be beneficial for Facebook, but initial reviews have given positive comments about this service. Within the next few weeks more information and reviews will be shared about this new service.
