Samsung to Release the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Canada Later This Month

According to Samsung Canada, the world’s largest Smartphone maker will release the highly anticipated Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Canada as well as internationally later this month.

 

The tablet, which features a stylus known as the “S Pen” is intended to target both the enterprise and consumer markets alike. The impressive list of specs includes a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2 GB RAM, a 10.1 inch display (1200×800), 5 MP rear camera and 1.9 MP front-facing camera. The tablet will feature Android’s popular 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

 

The S Pen Experience as the company calls it has been deeply integrated into the user interface of the tablet allowing for easy and accurate writing and other valuable functionality within the S Note, S Planner and My Story apps.

 

Although the model being released later this month is limited to WiFi and 3G/HSPA+ connectivity, a WiFi plus 4G model is expected to be released later this year to take advantage of faster and more powerful connections.

 

According to Mobile Syrup, Samsung Canada released the following statement confirming the release:

More than ever, Samsung is committed to introducing innovative new products that deliver a choice of mobile experiences and devices. Earlier this year, with our carrier partners, Samsung established the first Galaxy Note, as a premium smartphone, which enabled users to capture, create and share content like never before. Now we are bringing the Note’s facility for productivity, content creation and personal expression to a tablet form factor. We look forward to sharing the Galaxy Note 10.1 timing and Canadian availability details in the coming months.”

 

Expect the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to be made available through major providers such as Rogers and Bell as well as retail locations such as Future Shop and Best Buy. For an idea of what the Tab 10.1 will be able to do, check out the user interface demo below.
