Vancouver-based 7Geese anounced on Thursday, May 9 that it had closed a 3-year deal with IOD, a top Health Information Management solution provider located in the US. The Candian startup will help the Wisconsin based IOD and its 2000 emplyees get rid of performance reviews with the utilization of social performance management technology.
Carol Runyan, director of learning and development at IOD, spoke about the new contract her company had signed and said, “We are excited to rollout 7Geese in our organization to enhance employee engagement, alignment, recognition, and development. Our managers are thrilled to use a social approach to help improve performance, track employee goals, and provide immediate, real-time feedback and coaching. Using this approach will drive the overall performance and growth of our employees and our organization in a way traditional performance reviews never could.”
7Geese is a fairly new comapny that got started in 2012 and had initially focused on fresh innovative firms that did not want to utilize performance reviews because they reminded them of traditional organizations. However, 7Geese has now gotten the attention of enterprise clients that are interested in the benefits the Canadian firms technology can offer them. All this came about afte the startup partnered with Yammer in March 2013.
7Geese CEO, Amin Palizban, explains, “Performance reviews are archaic, painful, and ineffective. There is a lot of research showing that they damage company culture and reduces company performance. However, companies still do them because there hasn’t been any alternative ways to do performance management.” He goes on tot say that, “We started 7Geese to address this problem by providing a social, empowering, and continuous approach to manage performance. Many have claimed that we are too early for the market. But seeing enterprise customers signing up to 7Geese, gives us the fuel we need to work on freeing employees from the nasty reviews that everyone hates.”
TechVibes explains a little more about 7Geese and says that it is “a social performance management software that empowers employees to better achieve goals, get recognized, and receive continuous feedback in an engaging social environment.”
