Advertisers are falling in love with the iPad as more and more choose to spend their mobile advertising budget through iPad applications rather than Android tablets, smartphones and even the iPhone.

According to the latest statistics gathered by MoPub, one of the biggest mobile advertising exchanges, advertisers are increasingly turning to iPad applications to get their messages across with these apps ion higher demand as well as costing more.

iPad applications are seeing even greater price increases than the iPhone, and Android devices even though devices using Google’s operating system dominate the current digital landscape. This greater demand can be seen from the fact that advertisers were not shy of paying more for getting their messages onto iPad applications paying $ 1.12 per thousand impressions.

MoPub’s statistics also showed a strong increase in advertising prices charged for iOS devices with prices rising by 66%.

The huge interest showcased by brands to push messages on iPads is due to the higher click through rates achieved on the device. MoPub’s research shows that iOS devices each month are witnessing growing increases in click through rates while Android devices continue to lag behind even though they dominate the market.

With higher click through rates, advertisers get more bang for their buck and it is no surprise to see iPads take the lead in getting the biggest share of mobile advertising. MoPub’ds research points to a continuation of this trend with Android devices expected to see constant levels of advertising revenues.
