Waterloo-based Research In Motion that is now known as BlackBerry and has launched its much awaited next generation all-touch BlackBerry Z10 smartphone yesterday, January 30 and Nokia Canada did not waste any time to take a first jab. The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer noted on its Facebook page that “Blackberries make a great snack, but for the world’s best business smartphone try a Lumia.”

This was a pretty swift nudge by Nokia Canada because the Finnish company claimed the first hot at the Canadian mobile phone maker via its social networking page soon after Thorsten Heins and company got free from the launch of the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. The move was basically a part of Nokia’s new marketing campaign “Make the Switch” that is launched to encourage people to try out the Lumia.

With this move, Nokia has sent a clear message to the BlackBerry maker that the battle to become the third best platform in the world is on and it is ready to challenge the Canadian company. For this very purpose, Nokia has endowed its Lumia phones with top apps like Skype, Office applications and SkyDrive along with other terrific features to confront BlackBerry devices to make it the best business phone.

On the other hand, BlackBerry has a decent repute in the industry because it provides the most secure features for businesses. To counter Nokia and other competitors it has now added many new and up to date security protocols. However, BlackBerry smartphones still have an edge over the Lumia, as they offer Box and SAP support plus DropBox facility for cloud storage. In addition to this, BlackBerry is also looking to add Skype to its platform in the near future
