Canadian startup Shnarped has announced that it has released a new feature for its app on Thursday, January 31 that will enable the hockey fans to directly get in touch with National Hockey League-level players. At this point in time the mobile app from the Launch Academy-bred startup has 30 professional NHL players, who are playing for 13 different teams. Users will also find over 100 other hockey players through the app, who are also playing professional level hockey.

Explaining the new feature, the Vancouver-based company said, “In a word, Shnarped is access. This brand new, interactive application gives fans unprecedented connection to pro players through one simple dashboard. You will virtually be behind the scenes: in the room, on the bench, or flying around with the team.”

Both hockey players and their fans can communicate with one other via “pounds,” which Shnarped explains as:

“When a player does something awesome, what happens on the ice or bench? Teammates, coaches and training staff give them a pound or tap on the shin pads plus few good words. Shnarped lets you do the exact same thing. The unique Pound feature lets you dole out fist bumps as if you’re on the team. Plus, you can post your encouraging words on the player’s wall for him to see.”

In addition to this hockey players can show their fans love by sending them a personal note. Moreover, fans can also view the stats for players through Shnarped, much like a profile of the pro. Apart from this players’ database has bios, stats, Twitter feeds and much more available to fans through the amazing hockey app.
