The wait is finally over for the people of Canada as the new BlackBerry smartphone, Z10, has finally reached the hometown and is available for sale. After being launched a few days ago in six different cities at the same time the product first hit the UK, and has now reached Canada. It will be available in the UAE shortly while the U.S. market will not get it this month.

BlackBerry is the prime creation of the Canadian company formerly called as Research in Motion. The company has now adopted name of its signature product and is called BlackBerry.

Canadian Business reports that BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins appeared at a Rogers store and captured photographs with special customers who had already ordered the new smartphone. Meanwhile, wireless carrier Bell seems to have been receiving huge orders for the new BlackBerry. Canadian Business quoted their spokesperson as saying:

“We’re seeing intense interest today — sales are quite robust.” That noted, there were no figures as to how many sets were ordered or sold.

There have not yet been any stats available as far as the UK market is concerned. Different reports suggest that the new BlackBerry has been received well in the UK market, but it is not something that has made the customers go crazy about it. So far, the phone has been moderate, to say the least, and once we get some figures with respect to the number of items sold only then can we ascertain BlackBerry’s level of success.

The same is the case with the markets in Canada. Initially, there has been a lot of hype surrounding the phone and it might well attract more people. But the number of visitors attracted on the basis of the quality of the new phone is what will matter in the longer run.

It should be noted that it is not going to be easy for BlackBerry to sustain in the market because it is making a comeback at a time when the market is already occupied with many smartphone makers. Many smartphones are already available at cheaper prices, so it would not be a walk in the park for BlackBerry to entice customers other than those who are loyal to the brand.

On the other hand, there have been reports about BlackBerry introducing new models of the smartphone at relatively cheaper price soon. So it is safe to assume that the actual success of the company can only be determined at the end of the fiscal year.
