There is no dearth of different kinds of data floating around in the world, thanks to the connectivity factor that has joined nearly every single individual directly or indirectly. When it comes to education the situation is the same, and may be for good reasons.

Back in the old days when printing press was still a new concept, it significantly expedited the pace of the world. The scholars who had already done some research on any subject published their findings that were then used by some other researchers who, instead of starting from the scratch, carried out some new experiments. This eventually led to more discoveries and the credit goes to information sharing.

Fast-forward to the present day, information sharing is still benefitting the world, and this time the pace has increased considerably, thanks to the presence of a number  of technological and online resources. There is a lot of data present on a range of subjects, but its integration that could yield positive outcomes has not been seen very often.

The advancement of technology, from invention of a simple machine to creating online enterprises, has also aided learning process worldwide, but the education sector is still left behind. In order to take care of the needs of this sector, inBloom, a non-profit organisation, has come up with an idea of integrating data available in the world for the development of children.

Funded by the Gates Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation and others, inBloom intends to provide services to the educators. inBloom has not come out of the blue; in fact an alliance of states, districts, educators, foundations and content and tool providers, Shared Learning Collaborative, has been at its back.

Many developers have been developing apps for inBloom so as to aid the educators and now inBloom is a registered organisation carrying forward the goals of SLC. inBloom provides assistance to educators in terms of judging individual level of every student. On the basis of data entered about any particular student, educators can track the growth of the student while they can also receive suggestion about the content and tactics that should be used to further grow the level of efficiency of the student.

As defined on its website, “inBloom is dedicated to bringing together the data, content and tools educators need to make personalised learning a reality for every student.”
