When Sony revealed the Xperia ZL back in January it had announced that it will hit the stores in Canada “this quarter.” Finally on Thursday, February 14 the multinational electronics maker declared the exact month in which it will make the Xperia ZL available for sale, as Sony stated that it will arrive at Rogers, Bell, Mobilicity, WIND, Videotron and MTS “beginning in April 2013.” However, Sony did not provide the exact price details of the Xperia ZL in this announcement. Therefore, we Canadians have to show some more patience in order to know the tag price of this wonderful smartphone that will be released with the 4.1 version of Android Jelly Bean and will “shortly after” receive the latest 4.2 edition of this operating system.
After parting ways with Ericson, Sony has never looked back, as since then it has produced numerous Android based smartphones and a few tablets as well. However, till the end of 2012 this Japanese electronics manufacturer was not able to produce an extraordinary handset that could pose as a legitimate threat to Apple’s well-liked iPhone and various Android powered smartphones of Samsung. Things took a complete 180 degree turn when Sony introduced its two next gen flagship smartphones, the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL at the 2013 Consumer Electronic Show that was held at the start of January in Las Vegas, USA.
As even before the launch of these two handsets Sony has announced that it will challenge Samsung and Apple with its next gen smartphones. To some extent that claim proved true because both the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL sport features which can really defy iPhone and the flagship device from Samsung, the Galaxy S III. The Xperia Z is slightly superior to the Xperia ZL as it has got some upscale features. Still one cannot discard the Xperia ZL from this competition of smartphones, as it boasts a full HD 5-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and possesses the power of a quad core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro processor.
To the extent its RAM is concerned, the Xperia ZL sports 2GB of RAM and can store up to 16GB of data thanks to its internal storage. In addition to this, consumers can enjoy two cameras in this amazing smartphone one at the front is 2 megapixel developed especially for video chatting and other on its back is 13 megapixel that can be used to snap pictures and make HD videos.
