Today almost every smartphone manufacturer is looking to drive its fans crazy by introducing brand new specs and technology in their models. However, when a majority of smartphone lovers go to buy a cellphone they first gauge the camera of the mobile device and then check other specs of the device. This shows that mobile phone buyers prefer to buy a smartphone that boasts an excellent camera besides offering a super fast processor, RAM, a high resolution display, decent internal storage capacity and other such specifications. Therefore, whenever people get to meet with officials of smartphone companies their first question is about the camera on their device. The Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google, Vic Gundotra, faced a similar situation on Sunday, February 17, when he was spotted commenting on the quality of cameras in the forthcoming Nexus devices in response to a question over his Google+ account.

According to Android Central a commenter asked the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google that “I hope that someday we will just carry our future Nexus and we won’t worry about any heavy camera : ) is that possible.” In reply to this comment Gundotra said that “We are committed to making Nexus phones insanely great cameras. Just you wait and see.”

The original questioned that Gundotra posted before making this comment was whether he should bring his Android phone together with his DSLR and Google Glass to a forthcoming vacation, after which the commenter asked him the question. This reply from Gundotra was not surprising for many because a tech giant like Google will certainly be looking to introduce powerful cameras in its impending Nexus devices.

Other Android and iOS based devices are already giving Google Nexus devices a run for their money and the company needs a big feature to stand apart. Upcoming smartphones like LG’s latest Optimus G Pro and the flagship phone from Samsung, the Galaxy S IV, will feature a 13-megapixel camera which can shoot HD videos, has already raised the bar of the competition. So to confront them Google surely require “insanely great cameras” on its Nexus devices.

However, the confidence Gundotra has shown in his reply is pretty overpowering because “just you wait and see” clearly indicates that search engine giant has surely got something solid up its sleeve related to camera technology. So hopefully when the forthcoming Nexus devices will showcase their powerful camera it may drive people insane with their aw-inspiring results.
