Amazon.ca has finally released the Amazon Mobile App in Canada on Thursday, February 21st for the Android, iPad, iPhone and Windows Phone platforms. The brand new app from Amazon will enable its Canadian customers to compare prices, shop and browse for products, make purchases and read reviews from their tablets and smartphones. One of the most significant features of this app is that Canadians have the option to make purchases in French as well. “To make on-the-go shopping a seamless experience, customers can sign up for a new account using the Amazon Mobile App or they can use their existing Amazon.ca username and password to access the same account they view on the Web. Customers using the Amazon Mobile App can access many of the same features as on the Web, including their cart, Wish Lists, payments, 1-Click settings, Prime membership and more, and can shop the full selection of products available on Amazon.ca, including electronics, baby, kitchen, books, movies, music, watches, sporting goods, tools and more.”

Vice President of Mobile Shopping at Amazon, Sam Hall said on this occasion that, “We are excited to further enhance the customer shopping experience in Canada. Customers in Canada can now use the Amazon Mobile App to conveniently shop, browse and buy from anywhere, all while accessing popular features such as Prime, 1-Click ordering, customer reviews and more, right from their mobile devices.”

However, unlike other mobile platforms, Amazon.ca did not release its app for the BlackBerry that is a Canada-based smartphone manufacturer. Moreover, the US-based e-commerce company also did not say anything about the availability of its app on a BlackBerry 10. Therefore, the move from Amazon seems like a big blow for the Waterloo-based company that is looking to make a comeback with the launch of its new ecosystem by bringing in thousands of apps to BlackBerry World.

As far as the other mobile platforms are concerned, older users can either sign in with their existing username and password from the website or they can create a new account. The mobile app from Amazon boasts the same features that you will find on its website which includes Wish Lists, customers’ carts, payments, Prime membership, 1-Click settings, and much more.

Apart from this, a complete range of products is also available on the Canadian edition of the app which includes products for baby, kitchen, electronics, books, music, movies, watches, tools, sports and more.
