With rumours related to Apple’s new watch like device picking up steam, a patent request out of the US Patent & Trademark Office has added more fuel to the fire after it unveiled that the Cupertino-based company is developing a wearable computer that is much like a bracelet and could be an iWatch. The patent application from Apple received the approval from the US Patent & Trademark Office on Thursday, February 21st. As far as the description of that patent request is concerned, it is perceived from the text that the highly anticipated and much talked about iWatch from Apple is currently in the early phase of development. In addition, the description of the patent also indicated that the wearable device boasts a multi-touch display with which users can “accomplish a number of different tasks, including adjusting the order of a current playlist or reviewing a list of recent phone calls. A response to a current text message can even be managed given a simple virtual keyboard configuration across the face of the flexible display.”
However, this is not just all that the wearable computer offers, as there is another side to it. Remember the numerous patents Apple has filed sometime ago? Many people though those would be used to power the company’s massive data centers but it seems that it could be replacing the battery in the watch. Even a smart watch like Pebble requires charging therefore its users connect it to the charger once a weak at least. It seems Apple’s computer like device that you will wearis going to be different and according to iPhoneinCanada, “Their solution for an outstanding user experience: Solar panels and kinetic energy.”

Moreover, the patent filed by Apple also hints at a wearable video like device, in addition to the following:
“(1) a flexible substrate having a flat state and a curled state; and (2) a flexible display disposed upon a first surface of the flexible substrate, where in the curled state the flexible substrate conforms to an appendage of the end-user.”
iPhoneinCanada also reported that, “other possible features of the device included in the patent application include using it for night time bike ride lightning, edge lightning to configure a colored backlit border, and the ability to quickly view maps.”
