BlackBerry is reportedly gearing up to enter the Chinese market, which is one of the biggest markets for smartphones, but there has not yet been any reports about when exactly the Canadian-based smartphone manufacturer will hit the China market with its signature product, according to South China Morning Post.

BlackBerry has recently launched its new smartphones – Z10 and Q10 – in a desperate attempt to revamp the tarnished image of the company and save it from destruction. The phone is already available in many leading markets of the world including the U.K., UAE, Canada and other European markets.

China is a major market for all smartphones in the world and the competition in the Chinese markets is very tough. Since BlackBerry had not been able to come up with its new product for quite some time, the company lost many of its customers to other smartphones using Android and other OS. It will be a daunting task for BlackBerry to attract customers in China, but it is banking on the success and unique features of its new OS.

If BlackBerry gains success in the Chinese market it would be a huge success for the company that is going to launch the new Z10 smartphone pretty soon in the U.S., where its popularity graph has gained strength, apparently in anticipation of the new phone’s arrival.

It is very important for BlackBerry to achieve success in the U.S. and other big markets because recently many reports have claimed that the company is falling behind the expected targets when it comes to the number of new Z10 models sold. However, the company has adopted a positive posture, implying that all is going well for it.

In absence of any official figures about the new smartphone’s sales it is hard to ascertain the level of success BlackBerry has attained, but there is no denying that the goal has not been achieved yet by BlackBerry, and it must get a strong response from other markets where its new smartphone is not made available yet.

BlackBerry might also face serious competition in the Chinese markets in terms of pricing of the new smartphone. If the company does not provide subsidy, the customers might not be tempted to give consideration to its phone as they already have options of getting their hands on other cheaper smartphones.
