BlackBerry has launched its recently launched Z10 smartphone in India where the smartphone will be available at 43,490 rupees ($800), according to Reuters. It is one more entry by the Canadian-based smartphone manufacturer into another big market after it was made available in the U.K., UAE and Canada. The phone is yet to reach the U.S. and it is expected that it will still take a couple of weeks to reach the U.S., which is another very strong market.

BlackBerry continues to explore different markets after launching the new smartphone almost a month ago. It is also available in different leading markets of Europe and will soon be available in some other Asian markets including China.

India is a very lucrative market for BlackBerry, provided the company keeps a check on its prices. Previous models of the BlackBerry smartphone received good response from the Indian market, but the success was largely based on the fact that the smartphones had been available at cheaper rates than Apple and Samsung – the two giants that dominate the smartphone market in the world.

For the time being, it is hard to tell how well the Indian market will receive the new smartphone, but as the time goes on we can determine if it has received any success. Initially, BlackBerry might be able to attract some of its loyal customers, but the response it receives later on will determine the true success.

Before the launch of the Z10 smartphone, it had been reported that BlackBerry would introduce new models of the smartphone that would be cheaper in rates so as to target markets of developing countries where high-end phones are not renowned for doing strong business. If BlackBerry introduces cheaper version of its smartphone for markets like India and China, its sales figures could take a boost. However, for the time being the company will keep on relying on the version it has released recently.

Meanwhile, different reports have indicated that the new BlackBerry smartphone will be available in the U.S. in mid-March. U.S. is one of the main markets for BlackBerry and its stock value could also receive a boost after its launch in the country.
