After debuting the Photoshop Touch on Android based tablets in 2011 and then introducing it to iPad in February 2012 and on Kindle mobile devices in last November, Adobe has now decided to make it available on smartphones as well. Prior to this the full version of Photoshop Touch required a big screen but Adobe finally found a way to optimise it for smaller screens too. As a result of that now users of the 5th gen iPod Touch, iPhone and Android-based smartphones can use the app after paying $4.99.

Adobe’s Vice President Products of Creative Media Solutions, Winston Hendrickson said on this occasion that, “Mobile phones are increasingly becoming the primary tool for people to take and edit photos. Adobe is dedicated to serving our customers’ evolving creative workflow and we heard, loud and clear, that Photoshop fans wanted some core Adobe imaging magic on their smartphones.”

With the help of the latest Adobe Photoshop Touch, now smartphone users will be able to add spark to their pictures by using the top features of this graphic editing software like selection tools, layers, filters, colour adjustments and tonal; edit pictures as big as 12 megapixels through layers; apply various effects to images and insert graphical text in them; sync pictures to Adobe Creative Cloud that offers free storage; Use Scribble Selection tool to combine pictures together and with Refine Edge feature refine your selections.

Writing on Adobe’s Photoshop blog Stephen Nielson described the software and said, “This app shares an almost identical set of features with the tablet app, in an experience designed for smaller screens. I am particularly excited about this new app because I always have my phone with me. I can be creative anywhere using the powerful tools in Photoshop Touch, even when I don’t have my tablet with me.”

The latest 1.4 edition of Photoshop Touch for slates will work with the iPad Mini, Google Nexus 7 and other small tablets. To the extent other Apple device are concerned, the graphic editing software support devices that are running 6.0 or above edition of iOS, whereas for Android devices 4.0 or above version is required to run the Photoshop Touch. However, according to TheNextWeb, only iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 have the capability to run this image editing program and the rest of the models of iPhone do not have support.
