A California robot expert has brought the dreams of many Pixar fans to life after he created a real life replica of Wall-E, the adorable robot from the film which shares the same name.

The project, which took two years to complete, was a labour of love for Mike Senna, a self-proclaimed fan of Pixar and their easily recognizable character. Senna, who is a successful programmer by day and an enthused hobbyist by night painstakingly researched the movie and its protagonist in order to create as realistic and true rendition as possible.

The incredible robot was literally built from scratch and is a true marvel considering how realistic the look and movements are. Even the eyes seem to convey emotions that made the film and character so iconic. The two year period it took Senna involved 25 dedicated hours a week (a total of 3,200 to 3,800 hours) as well as the undisclosed research and parts costs that he paid for out of pocket.

Unfortunately for those who would inquire, the Wall-E robot is not for sale. It has however been bringing a ton of joy to people of all ages at various events and Disney related events. Senna has been blogging about the ambitious project since its inception and continues to do so following events and appearances.

There is no word on whether Senna’s next project will be an Eve to keep Wall-E company.
