The new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone will hit the Indonesian market on March 15 after fulfilling all the regulatory hurdles. The smartphone has already been launched in major markets of the world and has been gradually made available in different markets of Asia and Pacific region where there are a number of smartphone users, but they want to use the smartphones that are more affordable.

BlackBerry launched the new model of its signature product at the end of January this year. The phone was available first of all in the U.K. markets and later reached hometown Canada, UAE and other strong markets. It has taken some time for BlackBerry to launch its new product in the Indonesian market, but passing all the regulatory hurdles is mandatory. Hastings Singh, BlackBerry South Asia vice president and managing director, said, via The Jakarta Post:

“Whenever a device that has a radio comes to market in any country in the world, the device needs to be tested and then approved in order to be able to be sold. Smartphones are no exception.”

Highlighting the importance of the Indonesian market, he said:

“The Indonesian market is the most active for BlackBerry in Asia Pacific and is one of the most important BlackBerry markets in the world.”

It will be quite interesting to see how the Indonesian market responds to the new smartphone as traditionally this market entertains the smartphones that are easily affordable. BlackBerry is not available at a very cheap rate, but the loyal fans will certainly grab the smartphone. For those who are looking for something easily affordable, BlackBerry plans to introduce new models of the Z10 smartphone, but the date for introducing the new models has not been given yet. Some of the new models will be easy to afford and are planned keeping in view the nature of different markets where users prefer not to pay too much amount on a smartphone.

For the time being, the new Z10 smartphone will be available in all major cities of Indonesia. Hastings said:

“The [start of sales] will be consistent across all of our BlackBerry Lifestyle stores, store-in-store formats as well as modern and traditional channel locations across cities in Indonesia.”
