After unveiling its Optimus L Series II smartphones at Mobile World Congress last month, LG rolled out the 4.3-inch L7 II during the last week of February in Russia and now the South Korean electronics manufacturer has released the 4-inch L5 II in Brazil and is now looking to launch it across different regions of Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Middle East. The LG Optimus L5 II is the successor of mid-range L Series phone that was warmly received by users earlier and the Korean company has sold over 15 million units of the device.

The Optimus L5 II boasts a 1 GHz Single Core processor that powers its 4.0-inch WVGA display. In addition to this, the latest handset also packs a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and a 1,700mAh batter. The Optimus L5 II is launched in four different colours including White, Indigo Black, Titan and Pink. There are two variants of the smartphone, a single sim version that measures 117.5 x 62.2 x 9.2mm and a dual sim model which measures 118.4 x 62.2 x 9.2mm.

As far as the operating system of the latest L5 II is concerned it bears an Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 mobile OS and like other L Series II phones Optimus L5 II also includes software like QuickTranslator, QSlide, QuickMemo and Quick Button, a brand new tool that allows owners of these LG handsets to personalize a hotkey so they can launch an app from the smartphone within no time.

Due to these first-rate specs the President and CEO of LG Mobile, Dr. Jong-seok Park has called the handset “another great option among devices in the premium 3G market”. LG has not officially revealed when it will roll out the rest of its newly announced smartphones in its latest statement, which says that the Optimus L5 II “will be initially available in Brazil followed by single and dual SIM models in South and Central America, Europe, Asia, Russia, the Middle East and Africa”.

On the other hand, the Optimus L7 II that was released earlier is a high-end phone and features a 8-megapixel camera, Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A5 processor, 786MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. However, LG Optimus G Pro leaves both L7 II and L5 II behind when it comes to specs, as the premium device not only has 5.5-inch display, but has other superlative features.
