Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has said that analysts should not use his company’s supply chain report to predict the future products from the California-based tech giant, but it seems that tech analysts did not take him seriously. An analyst from RBC Capital Markets, Amit Daryanani, has become the second analyst who has released a note for investors on Friday, March 22nd that is based on the supply chain report from Apple. According to the Daryanani note, Apple will rollout two different iPhones in the third quarter of this year and the cheaper version of the flagship smartphone will not boast a Retina Display like iPhone 5S.

Here are the exact words from Daryanani’s research note:

“Our supply-chain checks indicate that AAPL is working to launch multiple new phones in the June/July time-frame this year. Specifically, [Apple] will launch the iPhone5s and a more affordable but lower-end iPhone at the same time, in either late CYQ2 or early Q3.”

However, it seems that Daryanani did not get to hear about Apple’s latest announcement according to which the company has advised all developers that apps they would submit from May 1, 2013 onwards to the App Store should support the iPhone 5 display and Retina resolution. It means that Daryanani’s research note may notbe  valid, but on the other hand Apple’s announcement was also not very clear, as according to iPhoneinCanada its says, “Apps can support devices with non-Retina displays such as the iPhone 3GS, but with iOS 7 Apple could drop support for that iPhone model.”

Still one cannot call the research note of RBC Capital’s analyst authentic, as it also contradicts the report of KGI Securities that was prepared by Ming-Chi Kuo. According to Ming-Chi Kuo’s report the cheaper version of the iPhone will pack the same 4-inch screen that we have seen in iPhone 5. Therefore, Daryanani’s report does not seem very authentic, as so far numerous analysts have issued notes on iPhone 5S and the cheaper version of iPhone, but most of them have made almost similar predictions about the specs and components of the upcoming devices plus a majority of them have also said that Apple is preparing two phones.

Whereas in contrast to them, Daryanani wrote in his report that Apple is working on multiple new cell phones and two of them will see the first light in June or July. Due to this claim his report lacks the authenticity.
