Apple has been claiming for a long time that its biggest arch rival Samsung has always followed its footsteps and imitated its products. In fact due to this brawl, Apple has also dragged Samsung to the court of law when the California-based tech giant filed a patent case against the Korean company. The judge charged Samsung a hefty amount for breaching the copyrights of Apple. In spite of this, it seems that Samsung is still not ready to give up its bad habit of imitating Apple’s products and recently the Korean electronics manufacturer has introduced its own edition of the iTunes Store. The name of this iTunes like store of Samsung is ‘Samsung Content & Services’ and it gives the consumers access to a one-stop site, where they will get both service and content like Apple’s iTunes Stores.
So now people who have Samsung Smart TV, Smartphones or Smart Pad will be able to access Samsung Content & Services. One reason behind Samsung’s stubbornness of imitating could be that now “Judge Koh halved Apple’s win against their copycat aggressor, we’re bound to see the level of mirroring Apple’s innovations dramatically escalate over at Samsung because the benefits of copying Apple far outweigh the punishment of doing so.”
In addition to this, the report also claimed that Samsung has also been showering money on game developers so they could develop an ecosystem of their very own “Tizen OS”. Furthermore, the report also says that Samsung is looking to have the top 100 games of both Android and iPhone platforms ready for it by June 2013. At this point in time, the brand new portal from Samsung offers a variety of services to its users like ChatON, several Hubs for learning, reading, gaming, videos and much more.
“Yet the most interesting of all of their services and/or apps may be the one that Samsung calls Kies (keys) that carries an iTunes Store-like interface for music, apps and contacts. The kicker here is that they actually offer Kies as an OS X (10.5 or later) download.”
This indicates that we should perhaps once again get ready to see another law suit filing from Apple, as Samsung is ready to play according to the terms and conditions. On the other hand, Samsung’s smart device users will get to enjoy more services and content than before. Therefore, it is highly likely that Samsung would be able to boost its market share.
