Popular site @evleaks has a knack for being first when it comes to publishing leaked images of forthcoming devices and on Tuesday, April 2nd the site once again surprised everyone by revealing the image of a phone that is said to be the HTC Facebook device. The alleged HTC Facebook device shown in the leaked image is dubbed “first” and it seems quite similar to Apple’s iPhone. Just a few hours after the release of this leaked image, @evleaks published some more leaked photos of the Facebook Home device. However, this time the alleged handset was shown in different colours, which suggests that the HTC Facebook phone will be launched in multiple colours (light blue, red and white) aside from the traditional black colour. It is expected that Facebook and HTC have added more colours to the phone in order to target youngsters.

These were the first leaked images of the HTC Facebook phone which have found their way to the internet and 9to5Google has reported that its sources believe it is the Facebook Home device, which they have come across. But it’s too early to call the device in the images a real phone, as the speakerphone of the handset is not too evident and interestingly there are no names and logo from both HTC and Facebook on the alleged smartphone. Still we cannot completely discard these leaked images of the Facebook Home device until HTC and the social site finally takes the curtain off the new product in 24 hours.

Earlier this week TQ reported that Facebook and HTC were working together to launch a new smartphone and the Taiwan-based company is developing the hardware for the device, while the social networking site is building an interface for the product that will be powered by Google’s Android OS. TQ has also reported that the HTC Facebook phone would be quite alike  iPhone, as its screen is expected to boast a home button and a slightly bigger screen than the iOS powered phone. Some recent reports have also indicated that the interface which Facebook has developed for the new smartphone will give users quick access to different functionalities of the social networking site such as contacts, photos and messaging and it will be called Facebook Home.

“Sources who have seen the Facebook/HTC smartphone hardware in-person say it is reminiscent of an iPhone. It includes an iPhone-like “home button” on the bottom center, and this button is surrounded by horizontal function keys on the right and left side. These buttons are said to be capacitive. Above the keys is a display slightly larger in size to the 4-inch display found on the iPhone 5. Recent rumors have pointed to a collaborative Facebook/HTC phone featuring a 4.3-inch display.”
