You might have seen the leaked images of Samsung Galaxy S IV Mini or Facebook’s HTC First phone, but you may not be expecting to see leaked images of the next iPhone at this point in time because usually Apple rolls its flagship smartphone out in September or October. Therefore, the leaked images of the new iPhone normally appear online in July or August. However, it seems that this time analysts had perhaps made the right prediction in their recent reports that Apple would announce the next iPhone in June or July because the first alleged leaked images of the iPhone 5S have found their way on to the internet. The image on the left side is showing a device that is dubbed the iPhone 5S. However, the design of the device in the leaked images is completely different from the current model (iPhone 5). In fact, several analysts have claimed that the design of iPhone 5S would be alike its predecessor.
Therefore, it raises some doubts on the legitimacy of these leaked images and according to PhoneArena, “Apple may be leaving behind the yearly release cycle, but there’s no indication it’s going to start changing the hardware design of the S model releases.” Secondly, “even if Apple was going to change the design, there is no home button. Sure, there have been rumours that Apple would be changing the home button a bit, but we can’t imagine Apple would remove it all together.” Thirdly, “while the curved display looks great with the edge to edge design, it doesn’t match the aspect ratio of previous iPhones, which would force developers to once again update apps for a new layout. Lastly, there is just something about the Apple logo on the back that doesn’t look right.”
However, recently we at TQ have reported about a patent application of Apple, which has revealed a new concept of iPhone, as it was showing a device with wraparound display that would enable the users to view the content on the display in one go or individually.
“Apple’s patent shows a perspective view of a possible future iPhone design with a wraparound display which substantially increases the available display area that can be used for display of icons, data, images, video and such. Note that while the design is illustrating an older 30 pin connector, Apple’s Lightning had yet to be announced. Patent illustrations are to represent a general overview and not necessarily the exact design. We can full expect Lighting to be implemented should Apple use this design in the future.”
In the light of this patent application, the leaked images of iPhone 5S cannot be discarded straight away, but to be sure we have to wait for a confirmation.
