Without a doubt Samsung considers Apple its biggest rival in the technology world and to beat their competitor the South Korean company is even ready go beyond boundaries. Therefore, when Apple launched the 7.9-inch version of its iPad, Samsung rolled out the 8-inch Galaxy Note 8.0 to give Cupertino-based company a tough time in the tablet space as well. Now rumour has it that Apple is working on the next generation of its beloved iPad Mini and it is expected to boast a Retina display like other devices from the company. However, this does not mean that Samsung is just going to stay back and relax, as it has recently launched the Galaxy Note 8.0 and according to the latest update, the Korean electronics maker is reportedly developing two editions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 that will make their debut in June and July respectively.
The two editions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will pack an 8-inch display and they will compete against Apple’s iPad Mini. Rumour has it that the two 8-inch slates are not similar to one and another, as they sport different features because Samsung is looking to cater to different buyers. The Samsung Galaxy Note tablets 10.1 and 8.0 supports the S Pen like their sibling the Samsung Galaxy Note II. In addition to this, the two tablets also have the Multi-Windows functionality like Note II and they seem like the bigger edition of the Note II, but unlike the phablet these devices lack phone capabilities.
In contrast to them, the Samsung Galaxy Tabs are developed more on the lines of a traditional tablet and they also do not have support for the stylus (S Pen). Rumour suggests that the 16GB version of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 with Wi-Fi option (SM-T3110) only will be released sometime during June in White colour. Following this, Samsung will launch the 16GB edition of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 with 3G option (SM-T3100) in white colour during July.
The ‘SM’ prefix that is being used for the two Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 devices is a new prefix. In fact the official website of Samsung has itself revealed the entire line-up of new devices, which bear a model number with the same ‘SM’ prefix. Here are the names of some of those new devices: SM-T210X, SM-T211, SM-T210, SMT210R, SM-T215, SM-T310X, SM-T310, SM-T311, SM-T315, SM-T312. As far as the ‘T’ in the prefix is concerned a wild guess is that it might represent tablet.
