Hyper Island, a worldwide digital education institution, has chosen Vancouver to organize a three day Master Class event during December. This will be the first time that the global institution is going to host its event in the Western Coast of Canada. The Master Class of Swedish-based Hyper Island is designed for senior marketers, executives, strategists, creatives, account managers and communicators, so they can learn about the potential of digital media through experiential learning.

Vancouver-based Domain7’s Jordan Eshpeter, who is collaborating with Eustress Marketing Coaching, Richard Sandor to bring Hyper Island to Vancouver said that, “Vancouver’s unparalleled natural beauty, state of the art facilities and culture of innovation makes it a natural fit for marque global events—just look at the TED Conference and TEDActive.”

Explaining the event, Global Partnership Director of Hyper Island at New York City, Jaclyn Ciamillo said that, “Bringing Hyper Island to Vancouver has been on our radar for some time. Vancouver’s forward-thinking leaders implemented a digital strategy that shows a profound understanding of transformative technology and its effect on business, science, lifestyle and more. Vancouver is a great example for other cities to learn from.”

Hyper Island has divided the event in four different levels:

“1: Urgency

People have a sense of what they believe, an ingrained perception. We want to take this mindset and shake it up. Digital is changing not just media, but the way we interact. It is constantly transforming power structures and reinventing business models. Participants are invited to challenge everything they know about their industry and human behavior.

2: Possibilities

Given this shifting landscape, participants are invited to mine new possibilities for growth in their industry. Collaborative workshops and engaging speakers allow participants to discover new opportunities, build up solutions, and react to their own views. We call this “experiential learning.”

3: Implementation

This stage helps participants learn to implement their new knowledge. We leave them with an actionable plan that will change the way they think, act, and react to the changes and challenges in their industry. Not in some vague future, but Monday morning.

4: Learning Outcome

– Experiencing digital media through tangible tasks

– Increasing your ability to manage and/or work with digital projects

– Increasing your insight in present and future trends within interactive media

– Gaining greater understanding of the impact digital media and technology has on society, communication and brands

– Help you challenge your existing ways of thinking and working

– Prepare you for constant change.”

The company explains this by saying that, “People have a sense of what they believe an ingrained perception. We want to take this mindset and shake it up. Digital is changing not just media, but the way we interact. It is constantly transforming power structures and reinventing business models.”
