Thumb Labs, the official developer of Behance’s mobile apps, has made it known through a press release on its site that it has been acquired by the famous software company, Adobe. However, the official post by Thumb Labs did not disclose the amount of money that Adobe has spent to finalise this deal. In addition to this, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed as well. Here is what the two co-founders of Thumb Labs, Rich Kern and Jared Verdi have said in their press release: “It was just three years ago that we founded Thumb Labs, driven by our shared desire to craft exceptional experiences for the mobile platform. Since then we have had the pleasure of working with a number of great clients, building products that have been featured by Apple, risen to the top rankings within their respective categories, and that have been highly regarded by the broader mobile community. The achievements made by our team have far surpassed our expectations.

Early in our journey, we took a meeting with Scott Belsky and Matias Corea that led to Thumb Labs building the first official app for Behance. We have been working closely with their talented team ever since, and last December released an even more ambitious Behance v2 and the Creative Portfolio. They have challenged us to do our best work, and we are proud to be counted among their friends.

Which is why, today, we are delighted to announce that we have accepted an offer to join them full-time at Adobe. At the end of this month, the Thumb Labs team will begin focusing our mobile talents on a united mission to empower the creative world.

Like many working in the tech industry, we have come to rely on Adobe products on a daily basis, and have closely followed their evolution throughout the years. With the announcements at Adobe MAX earlier this month, and the launch of the Creative Cloud, it is clear that this is an exciting time at the company. We are looking forward to contributing to these efforts, as Behance’s vibrant community becomes more deeply integrated into Adobe’s tools.

Over the next several weeks we will be working closely with our clients to fulfill any existing obligations, after which time Thumb Labs will no longer be offering our services. Our sincerest thanks to all of our customers, family, and friends for your support and encouragement over the last few years. We could not have made it here without you, and we hope you will continue cheering us on as we begin this new chapter!”
