RIM Will be Cutting Several Jobs in Nova Scotia

The loss of employment is never an easy time for people, however it is an inevitable part of life that often leads to better things down the line. RIM has long stated that they would be cutting 5,000 jobs world round, however have remained extremely tight lipped regarding which offices and areas would be most affected.

 

It seems that Nova Scotia will experience some of those cuts. According to the CBC, RIM will be cutting anywhere from 95-125 jobs in the province. Word came from both former employees at the Bedford, NS office as well as Percy Paris, Nova Scotia Economic Development Minister.

 

The cuts represent a significant amount of the provincial office’s 500 employees. According to the aforementioned article, RIM’s employees are required to sign non-disclosure agreements as part of their employment agreement.

 

News about the company’s cuts will continue to trickle in as they occur both within Canada and abroad.
