Sony Finally Rolls Out the Pictures of New PlayStation 4 Along with the Specs, Launch and Pricing Details

After Microsoft’s reveval of its video game, Sony is next in line to finally reveal its much anticipated next-gen video game console, PlayStation 4, on Monday, June 10th. To launch the PlayStation 4 Sony has organised a special event at the E3 conference, where the Japanese manufacturer once again provided details of its latest console’s specs. Although, the design of the brand new PlayStation 4 is different from its predecessor, it is not much different from the Microsoft’s next gen console Xbox One, which the software giant showcased earlier in the day. On this occasion Sony also made it known that the PlayStation 4 will hit stores during November and potential buyers will be able to get it at a price of $499.

 

Sony also announced at the E3 conference event that initially it is going to make the PlayStation 4 available in 21 markets. People in the United Kingdom will be able to get their hands on PlayStation 4 after paying a price of £429, whereas the Europeans will able to buy one for an amount of €499. At the event providing the hardware details, Sony divulged that the PlayStation 4 boasts an x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores single chip customer processor, which can be easily found on many Windows-based machines. Apart from this, the new console also sports a 1.84 TFLOPS, AMD next-generation Radeon based graphics engine.

 

As far as the memory of the PlayStation 4 is concerned it features a GDDR5 memory, whereas the single chip 8 cores processor offers a 170GPBS bandwidth. In addition to this, PS4 also offers Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB 3.0 connectivity along with a Blu-ray/DVD optical read only drive. Furthermore, the PS4 comes with a DualShock 4 controller together with a share button, a touchpad, headphone jack and a lightbar. By connecting the lightbar with the camera system of the PS4 users can gauge the depth of the player. Moreover, users will also find HDMI, Analog-Av out and Digital Output (optical) on the latest PS4.

 

Some of the aforementioned specs of the PS4 were not new for many, as Sony unveiled the specs details of the console back in February this year at a controversial event, as against all odds company decided not to show any pictures of the brand new console. As a result of that many returned disappointing from the event and many analysts severely criticised Sony for not revealing the new console.
