Numerous reports indicated even before the start of WWDC 2013 that Apple will unveil its latest operating system iOS 7 at the conference. And all these reports proved true on Monday, June 10th when the Cupertino-based company announced the new and fresh iOS 7 for its iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. The minimalistic look of the latest iOS 7 instantly grabbed everyones’ attention. In fact, a decent number of tech analysts seemed to be pretty impressed by the brand new OS, as most of them are now saying that iOS 7 has created a lot of excitement and users will surely tempted by it. According to BGR’s report, celebrated music industry consultant and critic Bob Lefsetz has called the new iteration of Apple’s OS a “positively mind-blowing effort that will make Apple cool again”.

In his latest publication of ‘The Lefsetz Letter’ that surfaced on Tuesday, June 11th, Lefsetz mentioned that although mobile experience of Apple might not be just right for every user, the approach of the California-based company in making things easy and elegant is the “favourable approach for most users”. Below is an extract from the latest edition of ‘The Lefsetz Letter’ in which Lefsetz wrote that:

“The positively mind-blowing experience was iOS7. Huh? Isn’t it a mature system? Isn’t that why Apple’s dying? Because they don’t know where to go? With Steve gone… With Scott gone… Jony Ive can take control.”

“Jony Ive is the new Steve Jobs. And rather than being cautious, resting on his laurels, Jony Ive has completely redesigned iOS7 to make it so cool, once it’s launched Apple-envy will be prevalent once again, with every iPhone owner showing off how cool it is.”

Gene Munster, an analyst from Piper Jaffray, also feels that “iOS 7 is a reason for users to get excited about their iPhones again by giving it a new feel, something that has been lacking in the past iOS updates”, according to CNET. Apart from this, Munster also believes that Apple has announced the new variant of iOS not only to excite its users, but for its investors as well, so they should keyed up about both forthcoming and existing iOS devices.

“iPhone users tend to get over changes to the hardware after a few hours, Munster opined, but “the OS is what mesmerizes people longer term.” The analyst also believes that the WWDC keynote prepared the stage for several new products over the next year and a half, including the iPhone 5S, a low-cost iPhone, an Apple TV set, an iWatch, and potentially a mobile payments products.”

Of these future iOS devices, Munster expects inexpensive iPhone to debut this October and Apple Television set to see first light sometime in the final quarter of 2013.
