Citing people familiar with the matter, The Financial Times has reported that the Cupertino-based Apple Inc. is “aggressively” hiring employees in order to deal with design issues of iWtach. The report also claimed that due to design problems, Apple’s smartwatch will not be able to see retail shelves anytime soon as sources of the media outlet feel that “the timing of the hiring spree implied the iWatch would not be ready for launch until the latter part of next year.”

“Apple has embarked on a hiring spree to tackle design problems with its “iWatch” wrist computer, bringing in fresh expertise amid concern that the launch of its first new product since the death of Steve Jobs could be at least a year away.

The company has begun hiring “aggressively” for the project in recent weeks, say people familiar with Apple’s plans for the wearable device, a move that shows it has stepped up development but which raises questions over the ability of its own engineers to develop wearable technology.”

However, this was not the first report which has claimed that Apple’s iWatch will launch in 2014, as earlier in May Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst of KGI Securities issued a research note in which he said that the smartwatch of California-based tech giant will be launched sometime late during next year:

“Apple may not have adequate resources to develop an iWatch version of iOS because it may require big changes to iPhone and iPad iOS this year. In addition, wearable device components aren’t mature. For these reasons, we think mass production of the iWatch is more likely to begin in 2H14, not 2H13 as the market speculates.”

But Bloomberg on the other hand, asserted earlier in March that iWatch would be launched “within 9 months” timeframe, which indicated that it would be made available sometime during 2013.  As far as the design of the Apple iWatch is concerned it is still a big mystery. Moreover, it is also not clear how late Steve Jobs company is looking to integrate the smartwatch in its ecosystem.

Nevertheless, one thing is for sure that Apple is diligently working on the wearable technology and it is pushing the development of the device to the closing stage, so a launch can be expected, if not during this year then, sometime in early 2014, as it is “ripe for excitement” and likely to create lot of vibes after the launch.
