Working may just get a lot easier for web app developers as new Canadian based startup by the name of ‘Kite’ is looking to do just that. Saving developers the hassle of setting up and having to run development environments on their own computers, Kite will allow them to do the same from practically any system with their cloud-based solution. Based in technology hub of Waterloo, Kite could be what developers around the world were looking for, making this a startup that actually could mean something significant.

For Kite’s co-founder Jeffery Morgan, it is shock to see why such a common problem still exists and why no one else has found a solution to it, or even tried to resolve the issue.

“Everywhere you go, startups, hack-a-thons, or even big companies, you encounter this problem,” said Morgan, according to Techvibes.com.

Those who are not that familiar to the technical process of developing a web app, they can just consider it to be a lot more complicated than a normal app you would use on your desktop or smartphone. This is because of what Morgan says is due to having more processes than a normal app does.

“Starting to create one is really difficult,” says Morgan. “People are running server software on their PCs and it takes hours to set-up.”

Not as surprising as it sounds, Kite is a finalist in the University of Waterloo’s VeloCity Venture Fund competition. It has not only garnered up popularity locally but also in other regions as well with interest being shown at the Montreal International Startup Festival and the Hacker News website as well. The rise in popularity, as described by Jeffery Morgan himself, is because of the obvious reason that people actually do consider it to be a major problem once they get started on thinking about it.

Making the life of developers easier could mean vast advancement in the field as newcomers would find it easier to implement and execute instead of having to focus more on the designing phase.

“This is a problem new developers have too,” stated Morgan. “More and more people are starting to code, there should be an easier way to do that.”

For now, Kite is still in the prototype stages but a subscription model could be released in the form of a private beta sometime as soon as September or October.
