Samsung Retail Store in Canada to Open Come Summer

The planet’s largest Smartphone manufacturer and overall tech conglomerate Samsung is set to open their very first Canadian flagship store this summer. According to Samsung Electronics Canada, the store is already under construction at Metropolis in Metrotown, a mall in Burnaby, BC, just east of Vancouver. The mall is Metro Vancouver’s largest, and will serve as an ideal location for the company moving forward.

 

According to the aforementioned sources, the stores will be designed to help Canadians pursue their passions by allowing them to interact and experience the extensive line up of Samsung products, including Smartphones, personal computers and electronics.

 

The store will feature in-store education and training from certified and trained Samsung product experts, and is the first of many to be opened nationwide as the largest phone manufacturer in the world attempts to sink their teeth into the tech hungry Canadian marketplace.

 

The store is a push towards creating a full consumer experience for customers, something that Apple has made famous as a pioneer in the concept. Allowing consumers the ability to fiddle and experiment with devices in order to determine how they will suit their lifestyle and tastes is paramount to continued growth and brand loyalty.

 

According to the Financial Post, Samsung has already begun experimenting with a store type concept at several Telus Corp. locations in Ontario. Something worth noting is that thus far Samsung plans to outsource the operation of their retail locations to third party sources rather than operating their own as Sony and Apple currently do. Only time will tell if this proves to be a wise move or a step in the wrong direction. Although such a move could prove economical, it may also create a gap in control that could cost the company dearly in terms of the overall cosumer experience in store.
