LinkedIn in order to encourage young people has changed its terms and conditions, allowing people as young as 13 to have their LinkedIn profiles, so that they can start differentiating between personal and professional life.
The profile of these young people will be treated separately than that of adult members to ensure safety including different default settings and also there is a separate area for young members for solving questions and queries related to these child members. LinkedIn recently launched its University pages after which they have taken this move. This page will allow the students to raise their brands and profiles for upcoming years of education, especially important for the students of the UK, as this will keep them updated with the change in fee structure and the amount of student influx studying outside the country.
LinkedIn will launch its University page on the 12th of September and includes the following familiar functions to help students worldwide:
Career mapping: LinkedIn will help students to choose career paths of their choice by interacting with the people of different fields of life.
Worldwide students: There are a number of students who want to study abroad. The new University page allows these students to find the colleges of their choice and engage with current staff and alumni that can help them to make their decisions.
Easy to find alumni: Students can easily find the alumni of different colleges and universities that align themselves and their education with that of the college or university. Potential students can easily reach out and engage with the alumni that help them make their studies more visible.
Building your network: Potential students can meet and build a strong relationship with current and past university students, even before they go to those colleges and universities.
Updates: Students can easily get updates from the colleges and universities of their choice. They can ask questions, gain opinions and engage with both current staff and student community members as well as with the alumni.
