Samsung was the first smartphone manufacturer that launched a mini version of its flagship device after which several cellphone makers including HTC decided to produce smaller versions of their flagship smartphones. Following in the footsteps of Samsung, HTC has recently introduced HTC One Mini, but now it seems that the Taiwan-based company is taking this new trend one step further. The Taiwanese smartphone maker is now gearing up to launch the smaller version of its mid-range handset, HTC Zara, which is a mix of HTC One and Desire series of phones. Initially rumours indicated that the mini edition of HTC Zara is codenamed HTC 301e and now both alleged pictures and specs of the device are out as well.
The leaked images of the HTC Zara mini look credible, as they show the device from different angles. In fact one of the leaked images is showing HTC and Beats’ logo appearing on the screen of HTC Zara mini, which confirms that the forthcoming smartphone will also boasts the same audio technology that was earlier integrated in the latest offerings from the Taiwanese company such as HTC One. The leaked pictures also show that HTC Zara mini will come in two colours: black and white.
As far as the alleged specs of the mid-tier smartphone are concerned, the report suggest that it will boasts a 4.3-inch, 480×800 TFT display, 1GHz dual-core chipset, probably a Snapdragon 400, A 5-megapixel CMOS sensor at the rear is capable of taking 720p video, while a 1.3megapixel snapper can be found at the front of the smartphone. Moreover, the handset is expected to be running Android 4.1.2 and it will have 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storing capacity that can be further expanded with a microSD card.
The HTC Zara mini is likely to come with a dual-SIM support and it will work with GSM/WCDMA networks. In addition, gravity, proximity and light sensors will also be there. To the extent the weight of the device is concerned it would be around 125g and its dimensions would be 132x66x9.88mm. it is said that the price of HTC Zara mini will be somewhere around $212 or 1299 Yuan, but the exact release date of the forthcoming smartphone is still a mystery.
Nevertheless, considering the way leaks regarding the smartphones are appearing online it is expected that soon we may get to learn about the exact launch date of HTC Zara mini.
