Students at the University of Waterloo are in for a treat as one of the leading entrepreneurs of his time and one of the youngest if not the youngest tech executives Silicon valley has ever seen, the co-founder of the multimillion dollar Twitter social network, Jack Dorsy, will be visiting the university and addressing young students and prospective entrepreneurs to tell his tale and give advice to those young minds. Perhaps if twitter was not enough for Dorsey to stamp his name in pages of history, his second startup, Square, was also hugely successfully after its launch in Canada last year. He aims to address a packed audience of almost 700 students about the challenges in entrepreneurship and how his theory of how anyone has the potential to be a leader and be an entrepreneur was the backbone behind his startup, Square.

He will have a private lunch with some students and entrepreneurs and will have the chance to see what Waterloo has to offer as far as innovative minds are concerned. Jack Dorsy, now 36, changed internet as we know it. After he launched Twitter, a new movement to connect users and enhance communication, he stepped on to lead Square, which inspires from swift methods of payments and transactions. Dorsy has introduced methods through Twitter and Square to remove the hassle of long distance communication and payment/ transaction ease respectively.

Waterloo takes pride in its emphasis on independent innovation and entrepreneurship and will connect to what Dorsy has to say. This seems a great opportunity for students to learn from the person who has seen the market first hand and has experience in this field. This visit will mark the first stop amongst many for Dorsey in Canada for his visits before he moves on to other universities.

This talk hosted by Waterloo University, is organized in collaboration with C100 organization of Canadian entrepreneurs and is scheduled to be held on 19th September, 2013.

TechVibes give more details and says, “The cofounder of social network Twitter and payment platform Square will hit up the University of Waterloo on September 19 from 10am to 11am and AccelerateTO from 2pm to 5pm. In Waterloo, Dorsey will tell his story of developing two very successful technology companies and his insights into being an entrepreneur. In Toronto, Dorsey will join Kobo CEO Mike Serbinis at the Mattamy Athletic Centre for an event that will include the launching of two Canadian startups.”
