iPhone to Open New Surrey Store in Late September

Iphoneincanada was the first to report about the Surrey Apple Store back in May. The news was confirmed by the news website a couple of days later through various job postings. Although the location of the new Apple Store is still not known but according to sources it is expected to be between The Shops at Morgan Crossing and Guildford Town Centre.

Source familiar with the story are claiming that the retail store will be located at the Guildford Town Centre with a possible late September opening. The Guildford Town mall is still under construction with reports suggesting that the 200,000 square foot structure could be finished by the end of this month.

We first told you about the upcoming Surrey Apple Store back in May, which was confirmed a couple days later via job postings. The location of the new store was unknown, a toss up between Guildford Town Centre or The Shops at Morgan Crossing.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the retail store will be at Guildford Town Centre, with a possible mid to late September opening, as recently the second phase of the mall’s 200,000 square foot addition is set to be finished at the end of August. Moreover, sources say the new Surrey store will include a focus, possibly related to business training to further grow Apple’s business-to-business market, which is reportedly under-performing in Vancouver.

Apple could also be looking to improve its business to business market by using the new Surrey Store to focus on business related and training activities. Hiring process for the Surrey store is likely to be based on invitation only policy. A spokesperson from Apple Inc confirmed the company will be holding an invite only job fair on August 9, morning at the Sheraton Hotel Guildford. There is a strong possibility Apple will move over the more experienced staff to the new location, which could create quite a few job openings at existing locations in Oakridge, Burnaby, Richmond, Coquitlam and Vancouver.

“Also, Apple will be holding an invite-only hiring seminar for the new Surrey store August 9 in the morning at the Sheraton Hotel Guildford, with personnel from Cupertino in attendance to assist. Apple will be moving more experienced staff to the new store which will result in further job openings at existing locations in Vancouver (Pacific Centre and Oakridge), Richmond, Burnaby and Coquitlam”, said iphoneincanada.com.
