Some may term it to be a bizarre move by a rejuvenated Motorola as the now Google owned smartphone manufacturer confirmed on Saturday that there would be no Moto X launch in the United Kingdom. There was much hype and excitement surrounding what is regarded to be the new ‘Nexus’ phone, but Google has killed those rumours as well by claiming it to be a whole new line-up of smartphones.

Motorola did not entirely disappoint potential buyers in the UK as they revealed, while speaking to TechRadar, that there are certain plans for the European market that they have developed and will be soon revealing. Unfortunately, the Moto X is not a part of those plans.

“We are firmly committed to building a portfolio of products in Europe that show the best of Motorola as a Google company, but at this time don’t have any immediate plans for Moto X to come to the region,” a spokesperson is quoted as saying according to Toms Hardware, while adding, “Europe remains an important market for us and we have exciting plans in the works. Although we can’t reveal specifics right now, this is just the start.”

Using the praised “Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System”, the Moto X is seen to be one that will definitely give the leading competitors a run for their money. With a software-optimized Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Dual-core SoC clocked at 1.7 GHz along with a natural language processor and a contextual computing processor, it will be hard for the others to compete. The 2GB of RAM and huge 2200mAh batter is also something worth noting as well.

The 10MP Clear Pixel camera is another hallmark of the new Motorola smartphone. As far as the software is concerned, analysts agree that the Moto X should be first in line for all upcoming Android updates since Google does own Motorola.

Entering the market with such a fierce battle going on is something that Motorola has definitely planned for. With experts explaining how only something that will be new and unseen will force customers to give up their current smartphones for a newer one. Which is why the Moto X is ‘always listening’.

The Moto X will be launched in the American, Canadian and South American markets and is reported to be available for consumers by late August or early September. It will definitely be interesting to see whether the much anticipated launch actually does live up to its mark or not.
