Although IFA 2012 has been considered a predominantly Samsung dominated event, there are other news makers currently gathered in Berlin. One such company is Sony, who is attempting to get some positive momentum going for their flagship device, the Xperia T.
According to Sony Mobile’s blog, CEO Kaz Kirai revealed the device with the announcement that it would be featured in the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall, which will be premiere in London on October 26, 2012 and release in Canada on November 9, 2012. Sony has had a long history with the James Bond film series, having its Sony Ericsson devices featured in three separate films beginning in 2002 including Daniel Craig’s first two films.
According to the post, the phone’s release along with the rest of the Xperia line of devices will coincide with the film’s October release date. That timeframe also conveniently falls before the holiday season.
The Xperia T features the following features and specs:
– 4.6” HD Reality Display powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine
– 13MP fast capture camera
– Full 1080p HD video recording capabilities and a 720p HD front camera
– PlayStation™ Certified
– Latest generation 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor
– Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
We look forward to seeing what Sony’s latest has to offer as well as the movie associate with it. The same movie featured in the trailer below.
