Two parties that both represent the past, present and future of note taking have partnered up to allow their users a new way to organize and browse their notes. Italian notebook legend Moleskine Srl, the manufacturers of the physical notebooks once used by Ernest Hemingway, Bruce Chatwin, Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso had come to realize that their relationship with note taking apps did not have to be a competitive one.
With the above in mind, the company has partnered with the wildly popular Evernote to create a special notebook that works specifically with the digital archiving and note taking application for iOS devices. Known as the Evernote Smart Notebook, the book’s ruled lines (both horizontal and graph paper) work with Evernote to allow users to photograph and capture notebook pages with ease. The dots allow automatic alignment and adjustment. Once captured, pages can be browsed and searched within the application.
Once the notebook’s pages have been digitized, specific pages and packages can be tagged and organized based on any type of categorization system the user sees fit. The physical notebook comes with what have been dubbed as Smart Stickers. These multicoloured stickers, once captured by photo within the iPhone or iPad app will help your device automatically store the page within your digital notebook based on sticker colour.
The unique and beautifully designed notebooks will come in two distinct sizes; the 3.5”x5” pocket ($24.95) and a bigger 5”x8.25” large ($29.95). The notebooks will be made available October 1 of this year, however those who are eager can pre-order one from the Evernote Store.
