Fans of football and gaming are very familiar with EA Sports and their benchmark game, Madden NFL. Routinely released before the official NFL season kicks off in September, the game features the accurate roster information, game play and a bevy of innovative features that continue to make it a leader in sports gaming.
Some features have been discussed on our website previously (TQ was on it) while others including simulated Twitter integration (see above) as well as realistic running and tackling make the game better than ever. While NFL football is deeply entrenched in American culture and lore, a surprisingly large number of Canadians are fans of the league and Madden video games.
The above is evidenced by data collected by the good people at Postmedia Network Inc.’s Infomart media analytics service. According to Infomart, Canadians generated more than 11,000 mentions and 10.6 million impressions related to the latest Madden game surrounding the games August 28, 2012 release.
The data, which was collected between the dates of August 21 and September 4, showed that Twitter activity peaked on the August 28 release date and carried through to August 30. In terms of general impressions of the game and message tone, positive mentions nearly doubled the quantity of negative ones.
For the sake of comparison, ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 2 was released on the same date, but failed to achieve the same type of Twitter hype and activity. In all 4,500 mentions and 2.9 million impressions were garnered by the online role-playing game. The activity on Twitter is charted below.

Madden 12 is not true to the game at all its fake as shit its like you cant catch interceptions by jminupg in front of the pass and i try to do it with asante samuel who is one of the best at it and it nevers works and when i throw across the middle the middle line back jumps out of no where and catches it that never happens in real life and in madden 11 i was one of the best because i could do what i needed to do to win and on this its just so fake
