VIDEO: Browsing Speed Test – iPhone 5 vs. Galaxy S III

The past couple of months have seen Apple and Samsung trade blows in the courtroom as well as in the advertising world with Samsung taking targeted shots at the iPhone 5 in both print (see below) and video advertisement.

When push comes to shove however, areas that truly show what a smartphone can do is its browsing speed and processor performance. According to several sources, including the video below, the iPhone 5 is the fastest smartphone to date, even putting a spanking on Samsung’s current flagship model Galaxy S III. The phone which is both thinner and longer than all previous Apple versions as well as the first ever to feature 4G LTE functionality.

 

Although the iPhone 5 is far from being the first to support 4G LTE networks, it seems to be the one that uses it most effectively based on a myriad of tests. This is true to the point that CNET reviewer Scott Stein noted faster speeds on AT&T’s data network than home Wi-Fi.

 

According to Mashable a speed benchmarking test was conducted by Austin Evans, who tested using a myriad of benchmarking tools. The results of the tests comparing the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III worked out as follows.
