Apple’s iPad is far and away the best-selling device in a rapidly growing tablet industry. The company’s success is likely to be further exacerbated by the introduction of the iPad Mini later this month. The 7.8” version of the popular tablet is likely to look extremely similar to the current big brother version due to the fact that the design is too Apple to ignore.

As with most upcoming products in today’s digital age, keeping things secret, whether it be photos or spec sheets is extremely difficult. That is fact is particularly true for Apple products, which always seem to be photographed by a manufacturer employee with a smartphone before they officially debut at their respective launch events.

Thanks to the good people at Chinese tech blog site Bolopad.com, leaked photographs of the iPad Mini have hit the internet. The device featured in the photo set is distinctly Apple, looking almost identical to the current iPad models save for a thinner bezel along the sides of the device. The Mini also appears to feature a full aluminum back plate with a small hole in the middle of the top. The pictures also depict a lightning dock connector at the bottom of the device surrounded by dual speakers.

According to the good people at TechCrunch, the photographed device features a Chinese weather app, further making the case that it is a legitimate iPad Mini unit that has been photographed within a Chinese manufacturer’s facility.TQ and TechCrunch are far from the only ones that seem to think that the device featured in the pictures is in fact the iPad Mini. Alibaba is already selling iPad Mini cases based on the specs in the photographs, including the unidentified small hole at the back of the device.

For those looking for a smaller and more conveniently sized Apple tablet, the wait will soon be over and we fully expect Apple’s latest tablet device to be a monster success. Check out the photo set below.
