It seems that Research In Motion (RIM) has put themselves in position to compete and potentially outshine rival firms on every front with the introduction of its forthcoming smartphones and BlackBerry 10 operating system. According to recent reports, RIM is working on an extraordinary mobile web browser for Blackberry 10 that is set to impress fans of the industry stalwart as well as its biggest critics. The new web browser of BB10 will give users a completely new experience in an area where the firm has recently begin a laggard.

The above facts can be judged from the fact that BB10’s web browser has performed exceptionally well in HTML5’s standard tests thus far, proving to be far superior to iPhone’s Safari web browser’s test results. On top of that, the Waterloo firm’s latest browser has also passed through the Ringmark HTML 5 test by achieving a coveted Ring 1 status, thus registering as the second mobile web browser in the history to attain such a rank.

Expressing the details regarding this new BB10 web browser, Matthew Staikos wrote on RIM’s developer blog this week that, “The browser team here at RIM has been working closely with the HTML5 experts at Facebook, who developed the Ringmark HTML5 test suite, to ensure the BlackBerry 10 browser would meet the standard. By meeting the Ringmark Ring 1 benchmark standard, developers can add a level of advanced functionality to their HTML5 apps and be confident that the BlackBerry 10 browser can execute the app without problem.”

The superiority of this remarkable web browser can also be judged from the fact that it has scored 149 out of 149 on Ring 1, whereas Safari for iPhone got failing marks in 9 tests for iOS 6.0. Furthermore, the iPhone got only 300 points on HTML5test.com, whereas BB10 tallied 400 points. That total is not only almost a perfect score; it actually ranks higher than Google’s awesome Chrome browser on PC. We at TQ are glad to see that RIM is coming out swinging and can’t wait to see what they have to offer come January 30, 2013.
