South Korean electronics giant Samsung has been battling Apple in courts around the world because of patent and intellectual property lawsuits being filed by both sides. The two technology firms have also been fighting it out in the market place as they compete for customers in the smartphone and tablet categories. With billions of dollars at stake, both firms are looking at all possible ways to win these battles. The latest news from the dramatic struggle between the two firms comes thanks to The Chosun Ilbo, a Korean news source, which reveals that Samsung executives will meet on December 17th and 18th to discuss the company’s court cases against Apple.
The report from the Korean news organization also states that close to 200 Samsung executives will huddle to not only discuss company policy but also what they should be looking forward to next year. A major point of discussion for the executives will be Apple and how to deal with the California based technology giant. Samsung believes that Apple is a major threat and needs to be overcome in order to keep winning in the marketplace.
The Chosun Ilbo report says that, “In previous years, the annual global strategy meeting often set business goals for the following year. But this year’s meeting will most likely set quite new guidelines for the tech giant’s worldwide sales network.” The Korean news agency also pointed out that Samsung got rid of a vice president that was “in charge of matters relating to Apple,” and bumped up the prices for processors that are being used in the popular iPhone and iPad products from Apple.”
