Mobovivo, a Toronto based startup that has earlier successfully seized small partnership deals with Muse Entertainment and 1K Studios, has now signed an agreement with major player Alliance Films. As a result of this contract,, Alliance Films has become a major partner of Mobovivo, who specialize in online video management, monetization and mobilization.
Now Alliance Films will use both the video app and web platform of Mobovivo to deliver movies distributed by them on second screen gadgets such as tablets, laptops and smartphones. Alliance Films is a major name when it comes to film distributions, making the deal an impactful one for both parties involved. The recent box office hit Hunger Games was distributed by this very company, showing the clout the firm possesses.
By using this Canadian startup’s technology, Alliance will now bring movies to audiences together with top consumer brands. For instance, the packaging of consumer products like shampoo, beer and cereal are pigeonholed with redemption codes that will be intended for online movie rentals that will not only boost the viewership and fan following, but it will also increase proceeds.
According to Trevor Doerksen, Founder of Mobovivo, “Getting top brands and content to users on their iPads and iPhones is what Alliance and every Hollywood studio needs to do to engage a new breed of fan and consumer. Our technology provides the media industry with a secure, adaptable platform that powers extraordinary brand and revenue growth.”
The idea of renting out pictures by offering consumers redemption through various products of top brands seems quite interesting, but it remains to be seen how much profitable this venture will remain for Alliance Films and its new partner Mobovivo. It will also be interesting to see how viewers and users react to the direct marketing and how well both firms integrate the feature without it being excessive.
