It seems that Microsoft is becoming a source of inspiration for companies looking to produce their own hardware for other corporations in the IT industry. According to the latest industry chatter, it seems that Google is all set to join the race of making slates and laptops by producing its very own touch laptop.

This new touch laptop from Google will feature a 12.85 inch screen and will be powered by their Chrome Operating System (OS). Google plans to reveal this touch laptop by the end of the year.

So far the Nexus Q is one and only hardware product directly from Google, which this multinational corporation has manufactured on a large scale but even that device was not dispatched to the mass-market. Aside from it there is no other product from this search engine giant that was manufactured in large numbers because previously Google had simply gives out its products to different Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for production.

However, Google has held out long enough as the corporation is looking to manufacture 20 million units of their Chrome OS touch laptop and the responsibility of this entire production was given to a Taiwan based company, Compal Electronics with Wintek tasked to provide the touch panels for this new breed of laptops.

There is no further information available related to this upcoming touch laptop from Google. Therefore, it is hard to make guess at this point, whether this new device from the search engine service will remain successful or not. But Google puts Chrome OS of this touch laptop as the solution “for everyone.”
