According to a recent Google+ post, Android’s latest and greatest platform the 4.1 Jelly Bean will be available for several Canadian carriers. The list includes telcos Rogers, TELUS, WIND, Bell and Mobilicity. Android enthusiasts rejoice!

The hotly anticipated update can be downloaded directly from Google. Jelly Bean represents an incremental upgrade over Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the focus being a smoother, faster and more fluid user experience. It features what is known as “Project Butter”, which features speed tweaks that anticipate when you will swipe your finger and reflect than on the screen. Take a look at the difference below.

Among other things, you will also be able to better personalize your home screen thanks to improved widgets that fit seamlessly regardless of size. Keyboard functions pertaining to writing have been enhanced with more accurate and relevant dictionaries and word anticipation.

The real gem of the upgrade however might be Google’s Voice Search. The tool is much more than a standard search tool due to its incorporation of Google’s Knowledge Graph. This allows for much more informative answers than those available from main rival Siri. Check out the tool going to work in the impressive video below.

Although the Jelly Bean rollout has been slower than fans and users would like, good things do take time. For all those Nexus S owners out there, enjoy the upgrade!
