It’s been too long since Apple launched its much awaited iPhone 5 for sale, but alas mere months following its release, supposed images of its successor device, thus far dubbed the iPhone 5S have already started coming to light.

Adding credibility to these leaked photos are reports that the latest smartphone may have been scheduled for an early release as well. It is anticipated that the Cupertino company might launch it in the first half of 2013.

However, only the time will tell when Apple will unveil this new device, but for the time being the new leaked images of the iPhone 5S suggests that it is a prototype because in place of a serial number, there is a clearly visible “x” on the back of the device.

As far as the design of iPhone 5S is concerned, it does not appear any different than its predecessor, seemingly possessing thesame size and length of the iPhone 5, but behind the back cover there is a slight change in the internal appearance. Furthermore, the placement of screws at the back of this upcoming edition of the iPhone also differs from the 5.

Apart from these few changes, the rest of the handset appears to be the same. Therefore, these alleged pictures of iPhone 5S suggests that Apple might follow the old tradition and keep the outlook of its next edition quite similar to iPhone 5, as it had done with iPhone 4S.

The leaked images of the upcoming device have sparked speculation regarding some new features for the iPhone 5S. These possible features could include wireless charging like we have seen in recently released handsets such as the Nokia Lumia 920 and Google’s HTC Nexus 4 or it could be a new display or better camera, processor or all of these things including NFC capability.
