It seems that Canadians were impatiently awaiting the release of the HTC Windows Phone 8S because in spite of the fact that Virgin Mobile has launched this latest device without any contract terms, consumers are still finding its offering too good to pass up.
In fact, Canadians find the HTC Windows Phone 8S so charming that even the price tag of $279 along with prepaid plans from Virgin did little to deter them. As a result of this overwhelming demand, Virgin Mobile soon reported that they had sold out of the HTC 8S.
As a result, Virgin Mobile’s website started showing this standard statement that the latest Windows 8 based smartphone “has been flying off the shelves.” Such a statement usually pops up when a handset is not available from the website of a carrier.
The situation was found not much different on most of Virgin Mobile stores as well as they had too sold out of the HTC 8S and it was also disappearing fast from other stores as well.
This overwhelming demand for a no contract HTC 8S took many by surprise because general perception was that the other device from HTC known as 8X is a better purchase when it comes to contract deal. However, 8S still managed to knock it down because it is rated as the best no contract deal smartphone at present.
Moreover, it is expected that the demand for the 8S may not come down in the near future because so far there is no other Windows based smartphone in the market that can challenge it. However, things may change once Nokia will release its latest Windows 8 powered smartphone, Lumia 820 on Canadian soil.
