In a late Friday regulatory filing the leading online retailer, Amazon.com has made it known that entrepreneur Blake Krikorian has resigned from its board. Krikorian, who is the founder and the CEO of incubation firm known as id8 Group Productions Inc. as of January 2009, has spent just a little more than a year as a board member on Amazon’s panel, joining them back in September of 2011.

Krikorian is well known in the tech industry because of his nearly unmatched expertises in media distribution. Aside from this, the Silicon Valley entrepreneur was also the co-founder of Sling Media that was founded in 2004, which produces innovative video devices called Slingbox. In 2007 EchoStar Holding Corp. bought SlingMedia for $380 million.

The sudden resignation of Krikorian raises numerous questions, the most pining of which was which big corporation this talented entrepreneur will sell his new startup to, with Google, Apple and Microsoft the likely parties. Since Krikorian has now resigned from Amazon, you can also include this leading online retailer in this list as well.

This question arose when the Wall Street Journal reported last week that Microsoft, Google and Apple were considering acquiring R2 Studios. The report by WSJ also mentioned that id8 Group R2 Studios has launched an, “app that turns Android phones into touch panels for controlling heating and lighting systems wirelessly” plus it also has several other patents, which makes sense why these big companies are looking to take over Krikorian’s firm.

At this point in time, different reports are coming to surface in regarding the acquisition of Krikorian’s firm, but so far nothing has been confirmed regarding whether the Silicon Valley entrepreneur has closed a deal with one of these big companies or not.
