Apple’s   planned 1 million square foot Spaceship like head quarters in California made headlines several weeks ago and now its Samsung’s turn to grab the attention with its gleaming, extravagant and stylish 1.1 million square foot office space that the South Korean electronics manufacturers is building in San Jose.

This means that Samsung’s new office space is going to be a slightly bigger than Apple’s Spaceship head quarter. From this it appears that the South Korean company is looking to challenge Apple on every front no matter whether it’s a battle of tech products or a new work place.

However, the office exists only on paper but Samsung has made it clear that they are planning to build their new sales and R&D centre on the huge area in Silicon Valley. The location will be home to the  semiconductor and display panel buildings with a sales and R&D centre that should utilize the lavish 10 stories.

The 1.1 million square foot area of this new office space will also offer a covered parking place for Samsung employees and is planned in way that will “encourage interaction among staff, foster connections with the community and provide a space to attract employment in the highly competitive tech market, which is growing at a faster pace than overall employment.”

NBBJ is the firm that is behind the design of the offices for Samsung.

In the mean time, Samsung Information Systems America’s  R&D dwelling will be moved to another plot that is about 8.5 acres where it will be expanded to include two new six-story buildings.
